International reforms

Building state institutions and democratic structures has become a major element of development cooperation and peace promotion. Police and justice institutions play a key role in that cooperation, and need to be reformed to fully take into account human rights, but also to improve their effectiveness and efficiency, citizen-orientation and accountability.

We are involved since more than 15 years in international reforms projects in the field of police and justice, closely cooperating with both bi- and multilateral donors. Our experts are not only able to promote solutions adapted to local specificities, but also to provide the appropriate sensitivity to understand cultural, political and social subtleties, with the aim to ensure sustainability though local empowerment.

We cooperate with the Chair of criminology at the Ruhr University in Bochum (Prof. Thomas Feltes) to the publication of the monthly police-newsletter. The newsletter is accessible for free under www.polizei-newsletter.de.
